The Hanover Tavern's Coach House is located directly behind the Tavern. This modern, 3200 square foot building's design was inspired by a stable at nearby Hickory Hill Plantation.

The Hanover County Historical Society's ninth annual Patrick Henry Leadership Award Gala took place on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in the Hanover Tavern's Coach House, in Hanover Courthouse, just across from the Historic Courthouse and Green.

Society President Faye Wade presented this year's award to Trinity Church Preservation, Inc. Accepting the award were President Anne Gordon Cooke Curran, Treasurer Sandy Smith Monolo, Vice President Carter Redd and Secretary Elizabeth Hoge Lipford. Heavy hors d'oeuvres were catered by the Hanover Tavern, and the award was provided by Cowardin Jewelers.
