Programs
    "UNCOVERING HANOVER'S HISTORY" is the program theme for 2010.

    The 2010 schedule is as follows:

  • -May 16- Tom Hobbs on the Broaddus Flats excavations
  • St. Paul's Episcopal Church, St. Paul's Road, Hanover 23069, 3:00 pm

  • -July 18- Gordon Lohr on Pine Slash Restoration (Patrick Henry's Honeymoon Cottage)
  • Historic Hanover Tavern, Rt. 301, Hanover Courthouse area, 3:00 pm

  • -September 19- Nick Luccketti, Archaeologist on Studley Patrick Henry's birthplace), Henry Store
  • and other special sites. Time and weather permitting, an archaeological site visit will be conducted. Salem Presbyterian Church, 5394 Studley Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111, 3:00 pm

  • October 14- A Member and Guest Social will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on the lawn at historic Hickory Hill.
  • Heavy hor d'oeuvres will be served as well as tours of the grounds and select rooms of the house. Dr. Paul Levengood, President of the Virginia Historical Society, will provide remarks. Invitations for this special event will be mailed separately.

  • December 6- Christmas dinner and social will be held at 6:00 pm, Covenant Woods, 7090 Covenant Woods Drive, Mechanicsville, on Lee-Davis Road, mid-way between Rt. 360 and Polegreen Road. Speaker: Dr. T.
